Inauguration as National Chairman, NIMechE

Engr. Mrs. Olufunmilade Akingbagbohun, FNSE, FNIMechE, was inaugurated as the 15th National Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers at an investiture ceremony held at the National Engineering Centre, Abuja, the first woman to hold the office. She was hosted by outgoing 14th National Chairman Engr. Prof. Mohammed Baba Ndaliman, with the occasion chaired by NSE President Engr. Tasiu Saa’d Gidari Wudil.

The ceremony’s Distinguished Guest of Honour was Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, GCON, with keynote remarks from Folashodun Adebisi Shonubi, Deputy Governor (Operations) of the Central Bank of Nigeria, and Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, Minister of Works and Housing. Guests of Honour included Lagos State Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, Borno State Governor Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum, and Ogun State Deputy Governor Noimot Salako-Oyedele, among other dignitaries. Her tenure ran through April 2024, when she was succeeded by Alhassan Abdu Mohammed.
