"Youth as a Panacea for Economic Growth in Nigeria", Rotary Club of Ikeja

Engr. Mrs. Akingbagbohun addressed the Rotary Club of Ikeja on youth as a panacea for economic growth in Nigeria, describing Nigeria’s youth population not merely as beneficiaries of growth but as its drivers, capable of innovating, creating businesses, advancing technology and raising productivity when properly empowered through education, skills development and mentorship.

She set out priorities for unlocking that potential, including quality education and technical training, promotion of STEM and vocational skills, access to startup financing and grants, mentorship and leadership development programmes, improved infrastructure and business-friendly policies, and stronger partnerships among government, industry and educational institutions. The address was followed by an exchange with the Club’s members, drawing on their experience as industrialists, entrepreneurs and employers of labour, and she was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation by the Club.
